Its Official

So I've been working for like 2 and a half weeks at my new job now, and I love it. But somewhere in the back of my mind I always worried that they were going to be like, "Ok, we tried you out for a couple of weeks and we don't want you to work here anymore." I know that is dumb, but whatever. Well today it became official in my mind. I got my first paycheck (CHA-CHING) and I got my business cards. Now I can give the business cards out to the hordes of women that always ask for my number at the bar! ... I hate my life.

The little things

Is there any thing better than the first chip out of a bag? I mean unless you are buying your chips from a gas station, the first chip is always a full chip. It is everything you expected. Then when you get towards the end of the bag, you have to scrounge for a full one and you end up eating a handful of crumbs and left over remnants of what used to be chips before the stock boys decided to play "perishable bowling" at 2 in the morning in the aisle of the grocery store. With the exception of beer and sex... and snowboarding... and getting a fat paycheck... and steak... and... ok there are lots of things better than the first chip in a bag. But it is still awesome!

And Another Thing

I am starting to realize that it is impossible to ever get anything done. So I work an 8-5 job, just like lots of people. But that is just it. If everyone works 8-5 or at least similar hours, no one will ever have enough time to shop or to use the services of companies that are open from 8-5. If I have errands to run, when the hell am I supposed to do that? I work the only hours that anything is open. With the exception of Kroeger and maybe Taco Bell, nothing is ever open when I have time to go there. This brings me to another realization. The only reason that the economy stays afloat is because of the unemployed. So here's to the bums without jobs, may you remain unemployed so that America remains great.

Cleveland Got a Facelift

It just dawned on me that Clevland has completely restructured its sports organizations over that past couple of years. Butch, Silas, Grover, Manuel.. all out. The coaches that I loved are gone (with the exception of Manuel... he was a putz). Then it dawned on me that this has probably happened any number of times before I was even born. With the exception of Paul Brown and maybe Mike Hargrove for his '95 and '97 World Series appearances there are no coaches that I know of that have made their mark in Cleveland. Yet... I still remain a die hard Cleveland sports fan. I am going to go nuts if one of these teams don't do something note worthy soon. You hear everyone talk about these curses, like the "Curse of the Bambino" and Chicago's hilarious "Curse of the Goat". Why does no one recognize that Cleveland has been cursed from the start? At least we would have people rooting for us since we haven't won a championship in any major sport since the mid 60's! Screw it, I'm going to start rooting for the Cubs or the Nationals. At least they have room to grow.

I owe, I owe...

Waking up at 6:00 isn't as fun as I though it was gonna be. I am glad that I got to work at 7:30 today though, because there was like no one on the road this morning. Apparently everyone else likes sleep or something. So now I have my own desk and phone and the whole shibaz... now I just have to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing all day. I spent most of the day today listening to people work so that I could get a feel for the job environment. That is when I realized that I have no idea what these people are talking about with their damn technical lingo. It was a bit overwhelming at first until Tim (my boss) told me not to worry if it all seems alien to me, they don't expect me to know all of the funny little acronyms and what not. Any way, after my first day, I'm tired and my mind is spinning with all sorts of letters that mean nothing to me yet, but I get my evening to myself... and now... I'm bored. Not to mention, everyone I know in Toledo works until midnight at which time I'll be sleeping. Who works crazy hours like that? I have no life.

Coffee is the devil

Josh told me not long ago that he had to cut back on his coffee intake. My response at the time was, "Why would you do that, coffee is great!" This weekend I learned why coffee is the devil. Especially in the morning when you need a jolt to get going. You keep taking coffee to wake up and think everything will be fine until two or three hours later when you are shaking violently and running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Then after your little coffee induced exercise routine you are tired from using so much energy and you need more coffee. It is a vicious cycle akin only to heroin and serial murder. It needs to be stopped. Damn you Juan Valdez!!! You and your damn donkey can go to hell!
